Bowdoin International Music Festival  P.  6-week session June 25- August 6, 2022. In Brunswick, Maine. We are planning to hold an in-person Festival. All students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized COVID-19 vaccine. We will continue to monitor COVID over the coming months and adhere to CDC guidelines and recommendations as well as the safety protocols of Bowdoin College.  Boston University Tanglewood Institute  P. Young Artists Harp Program July 3-August 13, 2022.  A premier summer training program for talented young musicians ages 14 to 20 in Lenox, MA. As part of Boston University, we will work closely with the university’s designated health and safety teams to make decisions about COVID-19 protocols in consultation with public health authorities, epidemiologists, and other experts at BU and around the world. This may include and not be limited to: vaccination requirements, testing, reduced capacity, masking, or any other tools available to keep our campus safe. For an idea of the comprehensive nature of BU COVID safety protocols, please take time to review BU’s current COVID policies for the university’s Boston campus. Eastern Music Festival P. June 25-July 30, 2022 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Age 14-23. Orchestral training institute. Every student rehearses six times a week and presents a full-length concert of standard orchestral repertoire. The two Young Artists Orchestras are of equal ability; seating assignments change weekly, and students generally perform with both orchestras during the course of the Festival. They are held to the same professional standards as our faculty regarding performance, attendance, and punctuality. Students may also perform with the faculty orchestra and visiting artists. Greenspring Academy of Music  in Maryland and Virginia. Session 1 (online) July 4-8, 2022; Session 2 (Maryland, harp only) July 11-15, 2022;  Session 3 (Richmond, all instruments) July 18-22, 2022. Illinois Summer Harp Class L,P. June 9-11, 2022 in Urbana-Champaign, IL.

This intensive three-day class will offer daily master classes, private lessons, and the Participants’ Recital on the final evening. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Ann Yeung and associates. An optional Harp Ensemble Jam will also be available to a limited number of participants. There will be special presentations on various topics such as throughout the ISHC. Interlochen Arts Camp Harp Programs P.  Interlochen, Michigan. June 25–August 7, 2022. Age range: Students currently in grades 9-12. Students work with world-renowned conductors, teachers and guest artists in private lessons, studio classes and harp ensemble. Students have opportunities to perform as soloists, in small groups and with large ensembles. Instructor: Joan Raeburn Holland. Auditions are required. MPulse Harp Institute  P. July 24-30, 2022. At University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Intensive one week designed to enhance the technical and musical skills of the dedicated high school harpist. A week-long program focusing on individual and group instruction for high school harpists. The institute will provide private lessons, built-in practice time, harp ensemble and studio classes, with occasional guest artists. Topics of focus will include solo repertoire, standard harp cadenzas, performance concentration and confidence, use of the inner ear and imagination for musical delivery, playing with relaxed, organized technique and peer-to-peer observation. Studio Classes provide a very productive way to explore not only harp playing, but collegial support and “real time” experience. Young Artist’s Harp Seminar L, P.  In Chestertown, Maryland. June 25-July 9, 2022 for pedal harpist ages 12-26 by audition.  Prep program June 26-July 3, 2022 for lever and pedal harpists ages 8-17, no audition. The Summer Harp Academy P. July 10-17, 2022 in Lake Junaluska, NC. 

 Intermediate to advanced harpists 13 and older. A comprehensive program designed to develop the versatile harpist. Participants will be able to hone their practice, performance and professional skills under the instruction of acclaimed professors Elzbieta Szmyt and Jan Jennings. 2022 Summer Harp Camps

American Harp Academy June 26-July 2, 2022. At University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem, NC. All skill levels welcome, ages 12 to adult. For harpists who want to be immersed in their music, surrounded by a community of artists that nurture creativity and artistic excellence. Harpists participate in intensive study with world-class performers and dedicated teachers, Jacquelyn Bartlett and Maria Luisa Rayan, in this 1-week program that is designed to prepare harpists for competitions, auditions, recitals, repertoire expansion, and other artistic ambitions .  Daily lessons; masterclasses, interactive seminars, competition solo polishing. Berklee Summer Harp Programs  P. In Boston MA. The one-week Global String Intensive, June 21-June 25, 2022, the Five-Week Program July 9-August 12, 2022, and the Berklee Summer Semester, which is a 12-week college credit program May 23 through August 12, 2022.  The students receive weekly harp lessons and coaching to accompany the ensembles and many other playing opportunities- jazz bands, rock groups, chamber music, Celtic music and ensembles, eclectic string orchestra and recording sessions. Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp L, P. June 22-August 16, 2022 in Manistee National Forest, Michigan. Harpists at any level welcome. Four sessions in 2022: Session 1 June 22-July 3 (grades 7-8, 9-12 next year). Session 2 July 6 -17 (grades 7-8, 9-12). Session 3 July 20-31 (grades 5-7 and 7-9). Session 4 August 3-14 (grades 5-7, 7-9). Intensive experience for young harp majors in a non-competitive environment. In keeping with Blue Lake’s core value of being a first-come, first-served program, harpists at any level are welcome. Each camper focuses on improving their musical skills through private lessons, harp ensemble, music theory, music history, and individual practice time. Student recital. Harps provided. Fèis Seattle is back! The event will be held June 21-26, 2022 at Seabeck Conference Center in Seabeck, WA.  We have an exciting line-up of presenters coming from Scotland and Cape Breton!  Judith Cummings is teaching the harp this time around and we’ve added guitar and whistle tracks this year. Murdo Cameron who plays with the Scottish band Dàimh, is teaching the guitar track.   Andrew MacPherson is teaching whistle and Alexis MacIsaac from Cape Breton is teaching fiddle, so the music in the céilidhs will be awesome (many more instruments are represented in the group). www.slighe.org
