Bowdoin International Music Festival P. 6-week session June 25- August 6, 2022. In Brunswick, Maine. We are planning to hold an in-person Festival. All students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized COVID-19 vaccine. We will continue to monitor COVID over the coming months and adhere to CDC guidelines and recommendations as well as the safety protocols of Bowdoin College. Young Artists Harp Program July 3-August 13, 2022. A premier summer training program for talented young musicians ages 14 to 20 in Lenox, MA. As part of Boston University, we will work closely with the university’s designated health and safety teams to make decisions about COVID-19 protocols in consultation with public health authorities, epidemiologists, and other experts at BU and around the world. This may include and not be limited to: vaccination requirements, testing, reduced capacity, masking, or any other tools available to keep our campus safe. Orchestral training institute. Every student rehearses six times a week and presents a full-length concert of standard orchestral repertoire. The two Young Artists Orchestras are of equal ability; seating assignments change weekly, and students generally perform with both orchestras during the course of the Festival. They are held to the same professional standards as our faculty regarding performance, attendance, and punctuality. Students may also perform with the faculty orchestra and visiting artists. This intensive three-day class will offer daily master classes, private lessons, and the Participants’ Recital on the final evening. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Ann Yeung and associates. An optional Harp Ensemble Jam will also be available to a limited number of participants. There will be special presentations on various topics such as throughout the ISHC. Students work with world-renowned conductors, teachers and guest artists in private lessons, studio classes and harp ensemble. July 24-30, 2022. At University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Intensive one week designed to enhance the technical and musical skills of the dedicated high school harpist. A week-long program focusing on individual and group instruction for high school harpists. The institute will provide private lessons, built-in practice time, harp ensemble and studio classes, with occasional guest artists. Topics of focus will include solo repertoire, standard harp cadenzas, performance concentration and confidence, use of the inner ear and imagination for musical delivery, playing with relaxed, organized technique and peer-to-peer observation. American Harp Academy June 26-July 2, 2022. At University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem, NC. All skill levels welcome, ages 12 to adult. For harpists who want to be immersed in their music, surrounded by a community of artists that nurture creativity and artistic excellence. Harpists participate in intensive study with world-class performers and dedicated teachers, Jacquelyn Bartlett and Maria Luisa Rayan, in this 1-week program that is designed to prepare harpists for competitions, auditions, recitals, repertoire expansion, and other artistic ambitions . The one-week Global String Intensive, June 21-June 25, 2022, the Five-Week Program July 9-August 12, 2022, and the Berklee Summer Semester, which is a 12-week college credit program May 23 through August 12, 2022. The students receive weekly harp lessons and coaching to accompany the ensembles and many other playing opportunities- jazz bands, rock groups, chamber music, Celtic music and ensembles, eclectic string orchestra and recording sessions.
