Elizabeth Volpé
Bligh has played with major Canadian orchestras since 1976, after
studying with Judy Loman, Alice Chalifoux and Edna Phillips. She has
been the Principal Harpist of the Vancouver BC Symphony in British
Columbia since 1982, and has been a concerto soloist and performed
in chamber groups and on movie soundtracks and recordings. Many of
her students have won awards, and four have become members of the
National Youth Orchestra of Canada. She has given many workshops and
master classes, both in person and via video technology, in several
locations. She is also a composer of harp music. Elizabeth is the
Chair of the World Harp Congress Host Committee for their 2011
conference in Vancouver.
