Carol Wood
Carol Wood is a harpist and a Professor of Medieval Literature at McNeese
University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She has published, lectured, and
performed widely on the harp, has given recitals from Houston to Paris, and
formerly played with the Lake Charles Symphony. Her recent book, The
Chaucer Songbook (Mel Bay), collects eighteen songs mentioned by Chaucer or
related to his works and includes introductory chapters on the harp in
Chaucer's works and in other literature of the Middle Ages, as well as
information about actual harpers in England in the fourteenth century and
extensive notes to the songs in the collection. A CD of the songs is
included with the book and is also available separately under the Eroica
label.

Professor Wood is married to poet and photo-historian John Wood; they have
one son, Dafydd.
